Guess Who's in New York??

Seriously. Guess!! Beulah Iyabo Lateefat Agbabiaka THAT'S WHO!!!

I'm finally here and there's no place else I'd rather be. Am I exhausted you ask? Why yes! I don't know how I'll be able to get up tomorrow morning but that's all part of the adventure, as are two hour flight delays, tons of people who don't acknowledge your presence on the planet, and getting slightly lost in the big city :-).

Here's a run down of what I learned on my first day in NYC:

Ø  The city is actually set up pretty logically and once you learn the system you're good to go.
Ø  There are subways every few blocks and they're really convenient if you can put up with the myriad of smells assaulting your nostrils.
Ø  Don't smile at people on the street here like you would in CA, people will think you're a creeper :-).
Ø  Not everyone is trying to steal your purse like you might think after watching certain movies (that's for my mama :-) ).
Ø  Times Square at Midnight is exactly the same as Times Square in the daytime--packed with people and stores bustling with business.
Ø  New York really never sleeps!

However, even though NY never sleeps it's time for me to grab some zzzz's so I'll keep y'all posted.

P.S. just throwing it out there that my birthday is rapidly approaching if anyone wants to send me a present while I'm here :-P

  1. Beulah,

Just because you didn't get your purse ripped off, don't think that NYC is some place you can walk around disregarding your personal safety. Not all movies are real and not all movies are fantasy either. NYC has plenty of evildoers walking amongst you and if you give them half a chance they'll steal the smile right off of your face.

Oh, that's right, they've already done that, haven't they?
