"Veritas Inlustrat"

Hello everyone! Today is my last Monday at Columbia. Could everything really be coming to an end already?

After dinner, Hannah and a few other suite mates decided to go out and shop around in Greenwich Village. Over the weekend, about a third of our suite went out to Greenwich to go shopping and came across a store with Marc Jacobs rings. They decided to get the one with the engraved message "veritas inlustrat" as our "suite ring." According to some websites online, veritas inlustrat means "in light of truth," "truth enlightens," or something along those lines. I think it's a really great idea because: A) it is small enough to bring back home B) it is something we can all easily wear C) it is something that we share, something that all 13 students and our 2 RAs can share! After they brought back the rings, we all tried the difference sizes they had gotten. It turns out, I have the skinniest fingers! Anyways, I digress.

It's amazing how 2 weeks have already zipped past me. At times, the day seems long, particularly when we're waiting for the Subway inside the musty stations. And of course, other times, the day seems so short, especially when we're having fun or scrambling to finish homework. Although I've had 2 incredibly short weeks, I am so happy about everything and so indebted to all the generous sponsors and the wonderful ILC! Thank you all!

  1. Rings for your gang members are one thing Yueming, but stay away from the tattoos to commemorate your bonding.
